it's what's for din-din

Wild Mushroom Stew with Spaetzle made with fresh Oregon Chanterelles picked and shipped by my cousin Don. I found this recipe in Cooking Light Magazine and it was fabulous. Made the addition of the chanterelles and used beef consomme instead of vegetable stock. Mmmmm-mmmmm amazing.

2nd sock complete

Easy and quick and fun... each Port Ludlow Sock took about a week to knit up. Simple lace pattern of six rows. After a few repeats, I had the patttern memorized. They will make a lovely Christmas gift for another "fellow sock knitter"!!!

quick gratification

So far, so good! I love this yarn- garment will have wonderful drape. Cardi will be knit in Knitpicks Shine (Marmalade colourway) -a blend of pima cotton and Modal, which is a cousin to Rayon and is a bargain project...about $50 for the entire thing. I love Knitpicks!! As the patterned area grows with each completion of the repeat it really looks beautiful. I finally have the pattern memorized and it is humming right along. This is a new stitch- a twisted/slanted stitch that give great texture and interest.
