Below is a link for a Russian Join. When adding a new skein of yarn, we have been instructed to never, ever tie a knot in the yarn. The knot leaves a lump and can come loose with time and wear and can become visble from the front of your work. My knitting guru Kathy at Balls and Skeins in Sebastopol showed me this great technique and I wanted to share this. After completing the Russian Join, weave in your ends like usual. You will have a nice smooth and very secure join that is totally invisable from the front of your knitting.
