ahhhh
beautiful view from front porch looking out....sadly one cannot "PhotoShop" out the power line that is crossing over this beautiful scene. I am very grateful to be able to live where I do. Sometimes the s--- clouding my mind causes me to forget. life is good indeed...
immortal beloved
Richard and Domi....not seen in this picture are The Pets or The Divine Maria, but they are all there, believe me...
SF Opera
Dinner at The Hayes Street Grill, and then we walked around the corner to see La Traviata. Pictured here with friends Bona and Bernie. We are seeing Madame Butterfly in just a few weeks. I am beyond thrilled. I love you Richard. Dominique, the Pets and the Devine Maria!!
Printed Silk Cardigan
for my sista...just getting started..... got a ways to go.....perhaps ready by Christmas, by her birthday for sure. it is more of a spring-y cardigan, even if the color says fall-ish.

out of control, you say?
I need to become more disciplined and finish some projects before I buy one more skein of yarn!
I must finish Richard's cashmere scarf (almost done!), finish 2 cardigans for myself and finish my second Port Ludlow sock. My goal is to finish these up by the end of the year so I can cast on for cardigan that I am going to make for my sister. I may need an intervention...
I used to be very monogamous with my knitting and not start another project until I completed one. When I am "caught up" I need to embrace this monogamy again. I guess there are worse "issues".

Kitchner stitch....bitchner stitch!
the most nerve-wracking part of sock knitting- the dreaded Kitchner stitch for a seamless, grafted toe.... no lumps, bumps
one down, one to go
Port Ludlow Sock. As soon as I grafted the toe and finished with #1, I cast on for #2. I want to have these done and am not going to wait an entire year to knit the other sock. Second Sock Syndrome, be damned! I love this pattern and this was remarkably quick to knit- took about a week of a little here, a little there.
hens o' plenty...sort of
We adopted 6 young Silky Bantam hens from a co-worker of mine who could not keep them. They were born middle of May. The pretty white one is a rooster we have come to realize. All you can see of him in this picture is his back end, but he has all of the classic rooster characteristics- the red comb, the jiggly under-beek things and the early morning rooster noise.
